- BANKRUPTCY

The current economic climate has forced many to seek help with regards to their debts. If you think bankruptcy is the right option for you, or would like help in deciding whether it is, contact LOMP for an assessment of your situation. If you decide to file for bankruptcy, LOMP can assist you in determining which Chapter to file under (e.g. Chapter 7, 11, 12, 13), and will carefully prepare your petition for you. LOMP is also available to represent clients in Trustee hearings, even if you did not initially begin the process with the Firm.

Also, many wonder if they can use a bankruptcy petition preparer instead of an attorney. Of course you can – you may hire someone to type the information you give them onto an official form for you. However, petition preparers are not lawyers, they are a typing service. So, they may not assist you in determining if bankruptcy is a good option for you, in determining what is the best Chapter option for you to file under, in deciding what information should be included in the petition and what should not be included, nor can they represent you in Bankruptcy proceedings. So, if you decide to forego hiring an attorney, be sure to educate yourself on bankruptcy law so that you can decide what property to exempt, and what debts and assets to list, should you prepare the petition yourself or hire someone to type it up for you.

- IMMIGRATION

The maze of rules and regulations governing immigration law is difficult to navigate. The process is not only meticulous and cumbersome, but also lengthy. A small mistake in completing your petition can further lengthen the immigration process, or even result in the denial of a petition that should have otherwise been approved.

LOMP would like to free you of the hours you will be spending on research and completing your paperwork by doing the work for you. The following are only examples of the services that are available to you. Don’t see your needs covered in this list? Feel free to inquire regarding your specific needs to see how LOMP can be of service.

Non-immigrant and Immigrant visas (temporary and permanent residency)

I am an artist, researcher, doctor, speaker, economist, or other professional and I have employment waiting for me in the U.S.

I am a student with hopes of studying in the U.S.

I am a family member or fiancé of a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Sound like you or someone you know? If so, you’ve likely done your research into the process of obtaining permission to enter and temporarily remain in the U.S., and you’ve seen the intricate rules and procedures regarding the application process. In preparing your application package to submit to immigration authorities, a Letter of Support will be your tool to convince the government for approval of your petition. With extensive experience and numerous awards in legal writing and advocacy, Ms. Parsa can craft the Letter for you, along with complete package preparation if you choose. Or, if you have already completed your Letter and have gathered your supporting documents, you may simply choose to have Ms. Parsa review the materials for persuasiveness, completeness, and inconsistency.

          Naturalization/Citizenship

Citizenship is important to you. That is why you are searching for a professional to assist you. The naturalization process is a tedious one, with numerous documents that must be prepared and assembled in addition to the lengthy, and difficult, citizenship application form. Many cannot afford the time to go through this process on their own. This is where LOMP comes in, giving you back those hours and days that you would have spent preparing and filing your application and allowing your time to instead be spent with your family, friends, work, and community.

        Adjustment of Status

If you are looking to adjust your status, LOMP has three (3) services that are available to you, of which you have the option of choosing any one, two, or three. LOMP can:

          (1)  Prepare and submit your adjustment of status application and supporting documentation.

         (2) Prepare you for success at your adjustment of status interview by assembling the necessary documentation packet for your interview and counseling you regarding the interview process and questions commonly-asked by adjudications officers.

         (3) Protect you at the adjustment of status interview by accompanying you at the interview in order to ensure that the adjudication officer is provided with accurate information and that your interests are protected.

Too often, Ms. Parsa has seen what would have happened had her clients chosen not to receive representation. It has not been rare for her to have to correct an interviewer’s misunderstanding of the law, which otherwise would have resulted in an erroneous denial of her client’s request for a change in status. Also, clients may misunderstand the meaning of a question posed by an interviewer, leading them to give an answer that is, actually, incorrect and which could possibly have dire consequences for the interview.

Allow Ms. Parsa the opportunity to assist you in this crucial final-step to change status to a legal permanent resident or to another status. At an additional cost, an interpreter can be provided if needed. (Please note that this service is available only in Southern California and Dallas, Texas)
